How to start trying to get PREGNANT at 38 or OVER - Advanced Maternal Age follow these STEPS

It’s usually around your mid-thirties when it starts…
You start trying for a baby and you hear of nothing but problems, complications and the risks associated with getting pregnant at “your age” 🙄
You’ll be given a million potential reasons as to why it will be harder to have a baby now.
You may even hear the term ‘Advanced Maternal Age (AMA)’ in the doctor’s office and cringe 🫣
This is because there are still SO MANY misconceptions about age and the impact it can have on your ability to have a healthy, natural pregnancy.
BUT…we are living in a modern world, filled with modern and empowered women.
Stats are showing that over the last four decades there has been a dramatic increase in the number of women waiting to have babies until age 35 and older.
Our approach to women’s fertility in their 30s and 40s needs to adapt and support this change.
That’s what this week’s Fertility TV episode is dedicated to! If you’re getting closer to 40 and trying to conceive, this video is for you.

I'm 39 and pregnant. 12 weeks and healthy so far. First pregnancy. I can understand the alarm when people say "oh your over 35, it's impossible or you can't." Im here to say that's not the truth. You can get pregnant anytime as long as two things are in occourance. your health (eating and staying healthy) and as long as you have a regular cycle. I walked regularly, ate plenty of veggies, and made sure my health was up to date by doctors years before I started trying to conceive. It took us 2 months. I understand everyone's bodies are different as far as egg count and whatnot, but I hope this helps someone out there. One thing I can say, especially if you are not already preparing your body to conceive, a later age CAN make it more difficult. But NOT impossible.

I just turned 38 last week and I’m absolutely taking time to improve my lifestyle. Stopping drinking, eating better and working out before I go back to the fertility clinic

I like the positive and encouraging tone in your videos towards us "older" women trying to conceive! They've been some comfort to me while TTC. I'm 41, and finally got a positive test a few days ago, after trying since October after a miscarriage. My AMH was tested to be 5 in January, FSH was 9. Too early to tell if this pregancy will end well, but just wanted to thank you for your videos! :)

Thank you thank you THANK YOU for taking the time to put out such educational and uplifting content. I'm 38 and we just lost our baby girl on February 21st at 19 weeks gestation for no known cause (they suspect egg quality?). The next day, I found your YouTube channel. I've literally sat at my laptop and bawled (happy tears) from the hope you provide. I'm currently on the sixth week of following just about every piece of advice you have given- which was a HUGE change- addressing gut health, my thyroid issues, asking doctors for tests (and purchasing some myself), complete diet change, supplements, toxin removal etc... In about two months, we'll be trying again. I don't have a question other than to tell you THANK YOU for being a beacon of light during my darkest time.

Time is the hardest thing. Started trying at 37 and now halfway to 40. My fertility clinic just wasted my time so I have am working with a private facility but it's like starting from scratch. Exhausting.

Thank you for a great video! We were recently struggling.
I get why my PCP & OBG doesn't want to prescribe meds that will help, yet push me towards a fertility specialist but I'm exhausted already. Even though we've given up, videos like yours make me happy that many out there are still pushing through & have a positive attitue through the process. Not everyone can afford even the initial consultation visit but those who are blessed to, I wish all the luck to you & your family! ❤❤❤❤❤

So I’ve never ever ever been pregnant before and never wanted to have a baby. Ever. It was never in my plans. Let me tell you how I got pregnant! My doctor prescribed me 50, 000 units of vitamin D for an vitamin D deficiency I had and bam. I got pregnant just like that! I’ve been reading this has happened to alot of people! If you are trying to get pregnant and your doctor okays this. Try it!

Thanks for the great content Dr!
I want to know what is your standard tests that you usually rrcommend with all 40year old patients before an FET? I had a failed FET cycle but my dr didn’t recommend any tests prior. I read up afterwards and realised there are many tests and procedures that he could have recommended to decrease chances of failure. Feels like he wasted precious time and our money!

Dr Sklar, Love your content! it has been so educational! Can you explain what may cause delays in a cycle? Soon to be 36, I have been tracking my cycle for about 2 months to get more familiar with it. Cycle usually varies between 30 - 33 days. This month I noticed I got my LH peak on day 19, but my BBT didn't peak until day 24 (5 days later). It was a slow progressive rise in temp. Is there anything I can do do bring ovulation closer to day 14? Should I be concerned about ovulating later in cycle? Should I test hormones just in case?
