This is a bit of a different one this week, following on from last years coffee video, this is everything you need to know about proper tea, from the different types to what temperatures and brewing times. I found it truly fascinating learn so much, hence the slightly longer video. I hope you enjoy it and don't forget to check out Don's channel with the detailed links below.

10:03 Fun fact: older plants don't have deeper roots than younger ones. Saplings develop a taproot that grows downward to help anchor it and provide stability. More mature trees mainly develope horizontal root growth that allows to capture water and nutrients from a larger soil volume.

At first i was like, man, 18 don't know if i'll sit through the whole video.. but i did! You can tell the man has huge passion for the tea and was so informative! I'm a tea-drinker, but never gave it much thought, really, except for the fact that teas should be "steepped" at different temperatures.. :D Thank you Ian and Don! ^_^

Could have watched another hour of that. Saw Don dying to correct you when you called it Meitea instead of Meileaf haha

I adore the knowledge that is shared here. I learned even more about tea despite already taking a tea course. Thank you for this, I really do wish people would have more knowledge about tea

Wow, Ian. Thanks for putting this up, introducing your audience to some great tea lore, and particularly in time for the next few weeks of Lunar New Year celebration in San Francisco and the world!

This was brilliant. Thank you for doing a full 18 minutes. I learned more about tea in that time than I have in months.

THIS is the type of video I've been searching for! Everything else is saying like where to get the herbs and leaves from whatever supplier, how to blend, etc., but they never talked about this sort of creation and detail stuff that I've actually been looking for. Great video, very informative!👏👏

FINALLY, i’m super interested in brewing these drinks but everyone talks about burning the leaves instead of extraction

Love this Ian - I'm a tea drinker, not a coffee drinker and I'm always wanting to learn more about it but there doesn't seem to be as much info. as readily available for tra drinkers as there is for coffee drinkers, so thank you for doing this - it was very informative and I learned so much!
