I've sailed on ocean passages, singlehanding in my old 34ft boat and I loved it even in weather, no - especially in challenging weather - I never felt a shred of fear...but I could never calmly swim at sea. It makes me feel ill even to watch it. Bravo.

Nice one man. I did 16 days sailing my 1972 Liz 30 Renegade from Bermuda to the Azores with my girlfriend in 1994. And tropical storm 10 when we 6 days out from Bermuda. I shit you not! The Azores are magical. We did the 12, 000 mile circuit UK Canaries, Caribbean and home via Azores. Best year of my life. Did 70, 000 miles in total working and cruising.

Can you imagine the mental strength it takes to be in a sail boat of that size in the middle of the ocean, hundreds of thousands of miles away from civilization and not freak out?
