That last transition was absolutely beautiful. To me it showed that even when he would lose bets and be beaten because he and his son couldn't win even when he was a child he never stopped loving him and believing in him, and didn't stop, even when he lost on purpose. What a beautiful song and video, wow

It's always great to see Tye Sheridan, but I'm shocked to see McConaughey in this. I'd say Zach is officially big time if he wasn't already!

Wow! Great story. Love how he got older and dad had the same outfit on the whole time like he would never change. Then boom, it was all the same night. Really drove home the point of the kid growing up fast.

I gotta say the song is great but I’m always amazed at how well Matthew McConaughey embodies a character. Even without dialogue. If you grew up going to dark dusty pool halls you’ve met exactly that dude 😂

Im 58 and this reminds me of my Dad taking me to bars on Saturday mornings in Charlotte was always the same, "I'm going to stop by here for a couple then we'll go". The bar matron would feel so sorry for me that she would give me a roll of quarters for the pool table.

As the father of a 4-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl, all I want is to be a good role model for them.
