Earthquake Kefalonia 26th Jan 2014 1555hrs

Part of the initial 6.1 earthquake, a full 90 secs of vibrations were felt before the next violent jolt.Time to grab the camera. This is filmed in the basement of my house in Svoronata a good 15 kms from the epicenter (Lixouri) (watch the items on the floor jerk from side to side during the quake!!

seeing the vid many times i can tell it was one hell of violent quake...and i've seen my share of earthquakes...after the first strike even the aftershocks were violent daaaamn...

Wow, very scary! I love Kefalonia but have been there only when very mild quakes have occured, beds sliding, and a few crockery items breaking. Haven't experienced this but you know the chance of it is high there. Hope your dog was ok! he looked sooo scared!

You dont seat there, you get out. You brits have no training on quakes.
You either go stand on a door frame or get out away from porches and shelters. very naive of you to seat and film this.
