Flames Have Goal Called Back Because Predators Have Too Many Men On The Ice

The Flames scored a goal but it didn’t count because the Predators had too many men on the ice. The Flames did score on the subsequent power play to make up for it.

Why can't they just reverse the call like in any other sport they just review the play and get the right call. Why is the NHL so afraid to admit a bad call and fix it after the fact?

Predators never had possession of the puck on the delayed penalty so the whistle shouldn't have be blown. Get it together refs!

Penalties for too many men are called right when they're seen. The officials did what they were supposed to. BUT. There should be a rule to wipe the penalty and award the goal. Or wait until a scoring opportunity is passed to blow the whistle. Right thing done, but could be executed better.

This should be a goal. If they got possession or it got saved then yes make the call but to wipe a goal away due to the other team having too many men makes no sense? Cmon NHL (Edit: Fixed typo)

Funny the announcers don’t know that too many men is different than other penalties due to there not needing to be a “delayed penalty” period where the team needs to touch the puck. Whistle should go immediately on most too many men penalties which I think was where the confusion was here. Refs did make mistake by blowing it down while the flames had a scoring opportunity

That wasn’t an official who blew the whistle. Sean Avery was drinking after his shift at the lady footlocker and skated onto the ice.

That sucks. Just a blown call but a whistle can’t be repealed. Flames have an uphill battle this year
