I just bought one. It was a splurge, but I'd been using the same ancient rice cooker for years, and it was time to upgrade. I've made 2 batches so far. I appreciate the tip about the 'soft glutinous' setting. I will try it. I will say that the rice I've made, despite perhaps being a bit too sticky, has been delicious. I really like this Cuckoo so far.

I just bought this rice cooker today because of this review and I absolutely love it! Made the best sticky rice I've ever had!

Can you please post some recipes using this rice cooker? I just bought it and I can’t read the Korean recipes in the instruction book 🤦🏻‍♀️

Best review on this product!!! Forgot to mention one thing... If you hold down the cook button twice, it will start the TURBO COOK function and Will make the rice much faster!!

This review is so helpful. I heard this brand from my friends and ive been waiting for so long to buy this right after I saw your review couple minutes ago, and finally decided to buy it directly. lol. I’ve been using several brand for my rice cooker as long as this time, but none of them satisfied me 😢 and again I’m back to the old tradition way to cooking rice(steam process). Hopefully Cuckoo will be my everlasting rice cooker.

Hi Julie, how is your cuckoo rice cooker been doing? Have you figure out more about this baby? I just bought one for myself, but the instruction is so confusing. I was so happy to find your video, have you make any more videos relating this rice cooker? Thanks

I've recently purchased the exact same model Cuckoo rice cooker and I'm really pleased with it. I've never used this brand rice cooker before and your video helped me a lot so thank you.

Hi, I read somewhere that the rice turned yellow in cuckoo? Is this true? I’m told it’s not able to keep the rice long? Sorry yeah I’m just trying to clear doubts before making my purchase :) I’m torn between Zojirushi NP-RLQ05 or the cuckoo in this video 🙏🏼 What would you recommend Chef Julie?

Where you able to keep this? Do you use this over a Zojirushi, or how would you compare it to the IH and IH/Pressure Zoji models?

In the US Cockoo seems to give us more features for the money, but the Zojirushi models seems to cost waaaay more than how much the Japanese have to pay for similar models from almoat any brand. Paying $370-$450 for this Cuckoo is kind of my limit. I can't see myseld paying $500+ for a zoji when it only cooks rice for the most part, especially the pressure models.

Thanks for your review. I wanted to upgrade my old rice cooker, from your review, I decided to try this one out. I had some old brown rice, all I can say is wow, on the flavor. The self cleaning feature and the drain holes in the unit. Plus. I set the voice level low, so that was nice they offered that feature. I could lift the pot out without pot holders. Has a very solid build.

Do you by any chance know where the lithium battery goes? I couldn't find that in the Manual?

Thanks,
Mark

Thank you! This was so helpful. I’ve had this thing for a year and couldn’t figure out why my short-grained white rice always comes out sticky and dense!

Thank you for this review! I want to try and make some Korean dishes! Is there an option you can select to make really sticky rice?

Did it hold up over time? Would you recommend it? No rust?

Was this rice cooker sent back after your testing or did you keep it? I always wonder what influencers do when they're frequently sent things to review. Are the items for testing only and returned or outright gifts? I have a Cuckoo rice cooker and am very happy with it.

Oh man, I have the older version and I'm so jealous that the top of the inner lid comes off! Cleaning that thing is so annoying. Also, the automatic cleaning sounds awesome. Cuckoo definitely makes some yummy rice though. :D

Hey Julie,
You have serveral other vids with rice after this video. Have you cooked the rice with this device or another? May want to lookup the consistency on your other videos.

I want to mention, that pressure isn't 2 atmospheres, but less than 1 atmosphere. Look into manual for DHSR0609F, it's 98.0KPa = 0.96atm!
