Thanks for the nice review. One correction: the pads are not "glued" they are taped. Tape ensures a perfect seal under the pads, allows worn pads to be quickly pealed off and replaced, and is the lightest, least bulky, and most reliable method to attach pads that we've found.

Not having replaceable ear pads makes no sense, especially at this price point. I have the DCA Aeon Closed X coming from Drop today and those $429 phones have removable pads.

@joshuavalour I wanted to ask you, what desktop headphone amplifier do you recommend to get the most out of the E3’s? How much output power should the headphone amp have to run these? If you recommend a specific one to get the most out of these headphones, let me know.

None of these headphone reviewers ever talk about an important aspect about headphones. Like Josh, talking about the 3-4k region, if you move the cups forward on your ear, and have them sitting lower on your head, then this boosts the low end, and it tames the high treble.

He want the cup to be touching the back and top of your ears, at least the back part of your ear.

Any headphone with a large cup over your ears is able to have its sound changed by doing this. I never hear any headphone reviewer talking about this.

But the way it was made and put together feels weird.

Atrium Closed/Verite Closed still take the cake.
This is extremely portable though and THAT in addition to its tuning is extremely lucrative.

No Liric 2 Comparison, huh?
After he now has had both headphones to review there's no excuse anymore. I complained in the comments of the Liric 2 video that it's review lacked comparisons to other Headphones especially from other brands. Whilst lots of other people wanted a comparison to the E3. Now the E3 review is out and... nothing. Only one sentence about other high-end closed-backs while talking about soundstage.
Now, based on Joshua's past it's pretty likely he'll post another video in the near future comparing his recently reviewed equiment to another. Which would not fix the issue at hand that both of the mentioned reviews are incomplete.
And lastly, this doesn't bother me personally, but i think beeing sent a headphone from the sponsor of the video is a bad look. Like yes they're not paying you to say something good about this headphone.... but they're paying you to advertise their store, which is not far off. That's similar to if DMS were to have reviewed Abyss headphones back when he used to work for them.
But as i said, i don't care about that, i'd just like to watch a good review and i'll criticise if i see room for improvement

You should review the DX1 from topping, seems like a really promising cheap solid state all in one solution that can drive most headphones.

Tried these against the Focal Stellias - ended up buying the E3s.

People are really hung on the taped ear pads.. if that’s really a deal breaker, lirics 2s are available

Wow, great review. I use an MM500 for mixing straight out of a Macbook Pro; they're great, even without a pre amp. I'd like to add a pair of closed backs for mixing and recording vocals. Q1] Would E3 and MM500 cover all the bases you think? Q2] Also, could you suggest an ideal portable pre amp for travel which I might buy that would compliment the pairing? Making some upgrade from my current Focal Radiance What are the best headphones till 2500 usd can you suggest, from which i for sure will get warm sound with punchy bass? I want to get all the juice from those headphones))

Some IEMs are crazy prices now so 2 grand doesn't seem crazy. Then reality hits and then I remember how much 2K can actually buy. That's a lot of pizza.
