I remember this session with Fleurie very vividly. Started playing this emotional piano line, and she instantly started singing a captivating melody, and the whole song was written in about 15 minutes. This song takes me back to when I was pining over my now-fiance. We had been friends for years, but he ended up moving away. We stayed in touch for a long time, before I eventually told him that I had feelings for him. He felt the same way, but didn't want us to fall apart through long distance. We spent nearly a year knowing we felt something more for reach other, but didn't act on it. It was absolute torture, and this song reflects how I felt during that time. It's so sad and longing sounding. But I was fortunate in which we eventually decided to leap into long distance and it worked. Now we happily live together. But this song will always make me think of that bleak period

I think it is truly magical that without one person, having one thought process, some of the most powerful and meaningful pieces of music to us would never have been made. I get mesmerised by the thought that if one aspect in that persons life had changed, maybe they would never have created something that can mean the world to them or so many others. Guess what I am saying is, how wonderful it is that one strangers life, their brain, their thoughts - can one day reach out and touch your own. You never know when your life is going to cross with anothers so never feel like what you do today is meaningless, you have no idea who is appreciating it <3
