The clip is out of context. She never said being gay was caused by sexual abuse as a child. No one knows why people are gay. There are animals in other species that engage in homosexual behavior, so perhaps some people are born gay as a means of population control. Or perhaps it is a result of negative experiences with the opposite gender There is no evidence that supports or denies why people are gay.

It appears that the problem expressed in this short is that if people don't come out of the womb gay, then their sexuality will never be accepted. Homosexuality has to be "natural" or it isn't valid.

I know women who were sexually assaulted as children by men and who turned to women to satisfy their sexual and emotional needs. They weren't born gay. They choose to be with women. It doesn't make their relationships any less fulfilling.
