Just to let yall know a lot of mixed people passed as white back then so they wouldnt be mistreated like black people. I have people in my own blood line who chose to live as white people back in the 1920's 30's. You would be surprised how common this was. My grandparents never would talk about it. Lot of older black folks in our families didnt tell us the horror stories they went through. I dont think they wanted to re-live those nightmares. Racism ruined a lot of lives a lot of families. This is American history. Can't deny or run from it. Just dont repeat it.

Babe was the spitting image of his father. He wasn't illegitimate. His father. Now that's the question.

Side note: a third of Babe's 714 homeruns came after the ground rule double became a rule in 1929. Before then a ball that bounced over the wall was considered a dinger.

I shared this in another YouTube channel discussing this very topic! I am an American man who is Black. A friend 12 years my senior (I'm 60) told me this after talking to her about the speculation concerning his ethnicity. My friend's dad played in the Nergro Leagues, and when he was active in the Leagues as well, Ruth was seriously considering playing in the Leagues as well. He changed his mind later.

I’ve always assumed that babe must have been Italian or something which could explain the darker skin tone than most white people and black hair

Babe Ruth would go to other black peoples homes for dinner .🍽 I remember meeting people that had Babe Ruth over for dinner 🍽 I saw pictures of Ruth having dinner in black folks home. And going to church with them.

Little Known Fact: Babe Ruth was actually Pakistani and his real name was Baba Rasheed. He was a star cricket player for the Pakistan Bengals before coming to America and playing baseball for the Boston Red Sox and later, the New York Yankees.

My Dad is heavily mixed, but mainly Black, Puerto Rican, and his Grandmother was Irish. When I seen Babes younger pictures the features reminded me of my Dad’s adolescent pictures in The Bronx. Days ago I told him and he flinched like he’d punch me in the face 😂. I explained and showed him the pictures, “Hey, that kinda looks like me” 🤦🏾‍♂️🤣

Babe's dad could pass for Babe, so the illegitimate scenario is unlikely. Gerard Depardieu must be black because nose.

The Ty Cobb quote in this video is suspect. It is accredited to Fred Lieb, a sportswriter who had previous beef with Cobb. And we all know about Cobbs recent revisionist history.

So when whichever sports columnist nicknamed him "Bambino" he was being racist. That makes so much more sense now. I always wondered why they used an Italian word during a time period when Italians were considered "colored".

I think they kept calling Babe those slurs because he interacted with African American people, including ballplayers. Like N lover, N this N that. I say this because I saw the movie "42" and saw a lot of people would call those things to people who interacted with Jackie Robinson. That was a movie, so I would imagine it was a lot worse in real life. That's my guess.
