I live in the States and just picked one up, and your information is spot on. I love it. Time your distance, and u never have to use the brakes.

I guess servicing would be a matter of tyres and brakes only. No oil, no filters, no valve adjustment mmmm interesting.

This is a taste of what the future is bringing our way. And the bike is stunning to ride on the city and surrounding areas. The futuristic design is a smart move from BMW.
It’s impossible to tour with it but the concept will evolve to that, certainly.
This video is food for thoughts ✌️✌️

I’ve been riding motorbikes for over twenty-five years and I’ve always secretly wanted a Vespa. When they come out with something that can do 75mph, go two hundred miles on a charge and have that classic Vespa - Lamberta look, I’ll pull the trigger.

I ordered mine today in Spain and can't wait until delivery 2nd week of May. My test bike just had 3 modes and road was already super quick . Can't wait to experience the dynamic mode will be another level.
I paid 13.800 euro

I really, really liked this test/video as I have never considered an electric two wheeler but your enthusiastic expressions have set me to thinking (always dangerous to the budget). Thanks for a great test!

In Vegas they’re $17, 000 out the door. That’s double what should be selling at.. dealers won’t budge on price yet not selling at all…

I have just ordered one. As an electric car driver I like the simplicity and tech-orientation of electric vehicles. I regularly make calls / listen to podcasts whilst riding and the relative quiet will help in this respect. I am concerned about the lack of weather protection, however, I guess I will commute in my car on bad weather days. I am keen to understand how hard it is to steal (i.e. can it easily be started and driven away / will professional thieves be interested in it - or is it too niche) as I will otherwise be wary about parking it in a bay in London.

You recently reviewed the X-ADV. How would you compare this to the CE 04 from a ride performance perspective, as a commuter scooter?

Put my R1250r in for a service and got the CE 04 to get me home, distance to my home from the garage 35miles. got there with 2 miles left most duel carriageway. great fun in town but very limited on a main road.

I would love to see them make a version with 2 front wheels like an mp3 or tricity and 2 batteries for extra range/power they could call it the TE 05

For around town I would think this is a novelty. That range is just not enough when you think a battery would have to be completely discharged to get that 80 miles. of range! for a 110mile range you might be at 30% in 80 miles saving the life of the battery for many almost double the number of charge cycles. but also if you charge up to 75 or 80% the battery would last double (that is the second requirement) so, really, for longevity the 75 to 80% down to 30 to 40% gives you a range of much less. (a daily trek of 20 miles each way and a trip to the store after work is what you would get) and if you forget to charge one time you have a bad day LATE for work probably. This is why a much higher range is best practice and this is really a mediocre product as most use cases go. Im hapoy with my toy for transport most trips….my electric unicycle gets 110 miles range at 25mph and I use it daily and it cost $3000. waiting for a scooter with more range than 80 miles maximum. 150 miles of range might be acceptable?

Price not withstanding I like it as I like all sorts of techie gadgets but I think they should offer a plug n play extended range battery for that big compartment

Could anyone tell me how many liters of gear oil this bike holds?

You didn’t explain what the left hand lever was for. I didn’t ever see you use it. Great video. Wish I could afford something like that. Someday maybe.
