Ariana Grande Fans ANGRY She Didn't Win Artist Of The Year At 2017 VMAs

This year MTV has gotten rid of the Best Male Video and Best Female Video of the Year awards. They’ve replaced it with the Artist of the Year Award. Ed Sheeran won this new shiny award on Sunday night’s VMAs. He was up against Ariana, Bruno Mars, Lorde, and Kendrick Lamar. Ed was even surprised at his win against that kind of competition saying quote, “Thank you. Um, this is only my second VMA ever and I’m…yeah, this is mad.”
This is when Grande fans hit twitter. They argued that one, her talent is more deserving. Um, have you heard her vocals on Dangerous Woman? And two, it was her year personally that really made her worthy of the award.
After the Manchester bombing at her concert that claimed the lives of 22 people she organized a huge benefit concert to support those affected by the tragedy.
One fan tweeted, “Ariana literally brought the world together in a time of need. She is artist of the year and deserved that award. No doubt. “
Another wrote, “Ariana: showed her bravery, strength and courage by returning to Manchester to perform a benefit concert and raised millions.”
This has me thinking. What does “Artist of the Year” really mean? Is it about what the performer has done on and off the stage? Or should it be award solely based on musical talent? I stan Ariana. and the fact that some arianators have done this really annoys me. In fact, if they were really the 'arianators' they claim to be, they would be happy Ed and not attacking him for Ari's loss.

Ariana IS the artist of the year, no matter what some award show says. She literally did a benefit concert and raised millions. I think Ed is a great artist but i can't say its well deserved when Ariana deserved it.

I swear Ariana's fans get mad at every little thing. Ed Sheeran won get over it. There Is always next year. But tbh half of her fans got mad at her for stupid shit too. And then they blame it on Ariana.

I love Ari but her not winning that award doesn't mean Ed is overrated or that he didn't deserve that award.

It's normal we're angry Ariana deserves it. She done a caritative concert in Manchester and her songs are amazing ! She has a big community of fans in Twitter, ig EVERYWHERE more than Ed Sheeran and the others so I don't got why she's not the Artist of the Year.

Honestly ariana doesn't need an award she's already a great and talented artist!But i still love her tho! And plus ed had some great music out this year.

It's video music awards, it's about videos not benefit concerts. It was tragic what happened in Manchester yes, but that doesn't mean Ariana deserved this award for her benefit concert.

There are other artists in the world, Ariana is an amazing singer but she isn't gonna win everything she's nominated for. Granted Ed Sheeran did have a great year with his new album but it just seemed the same old, same old. I know her response to the Manchester attack was absolutely inspirational but I think the award is based on album/music appreciation, which the people in charge choose.

What Ari has done this year is AMAZING and I think we can all agree that she has definitely grown as a person because of that. But the award was not for how great of a person you are it was for how good your music is and although Ariana is an amazing artist and has made great music this year, so has ed sheeren and so either of them could have won
