Fortnite Should Resell Battle Pass Collaboration Skins.

A new commentary, from me? Wow that's crazy. Anyways, shoutout to Justin for this post, I think it would be cool to at LEAST resell collaborations that are in the battle pass in the shop after two years. What do you think? Hope you are having a fantastic week!

Late to the party but here's my take:

They should take a page from Halo infinite and retroactively resell older battle passes. It'll make locker buying irrelevant and still give people new to the game a chance to start their collection.

They can also make specific battle passes for former exclusive skins (I.E. galaxy) for people to purchase. They would still have to play the game to get XP and unlock the content like what we do right now.

This should definitely happen. I started during Darth Vader season and to know I'll never have those marvel skins, Lara croft, Rick, etc. A lot of skins I want that are unobtainable. Feels bad, man.

I used to be happy with collabs in the battlepass because it meant I could get some of my favourite skins for a small amount of vbucks and tons of extra cosmetics, but when we entered the new chapter I saw so many new people playing fortnite and the realisation that they won't be able to get so many of their favourite characters and crossovers is just a bit sad, so now I don't think battlepasses should have Collabs at all unless they sell them again in the item shop, who cares if a couple OGs cry? It's not like you can resell them, every live service game shuts down eventually anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if they bring back all BP skins eventually tbh. Simply because other games are doing that.

I think the Number 1 argument I see for BattlePass exclusivity is "well it's your fault if you weren't playing at the time."
And I HATE that crap, it's absolutely worthless. There are tons of Valid reasons for not having played at time, whether you were just burnt out, didn't care, simply didn't know about the Game yet, (not impossible) or whatever else. I mean heck, how old is this Game now? About 6 Years? We're not that far off from having new Players that LITERALLY DID NOT EXIST YET for some Passes.
Reskins and Variants aren't good enough, they'll never fully match the Original, they just can't.

There’s nothing in the TOS that says they can’t sell old battle pass skins. In fact the TOS actually states that epic can change availability of any skin at any time they want, and also that when you buy a skin or battle pass you technically don’t own that item but you are “purchasing the right to a licence” which means no one can sue epic if they ever released old battle pass skins to the shop. Back in chapter 1 it said before you bought the battle pass that those items won’t come back (they removed this note in chapter 2 and there weren’t any collabs in chapter 1 passes) but still because you signed the TOS that means you still cannot sue epic games.

Let’s Not forget when the dragon ball collaboration happened you had to do special challenges in order to get the Shenron glider and various different cosmetics. and said cosmetics were unobtainable after the collaboration. BUT when Epic got hit with the lawsuit They brought back The Dbz skins AND THE shenron glider 1/2

I think battlepass should be a way to get skins cheaper and earlier, while later they can cost more in the item shop.

Fortnite would make a fortune if they brought some of these back for a limited time. So many new Fortnite players after they added no build missing out on some vital skins.

A better idea is for them to give you a ticket 🎫 every year (same as refounds) that gives you access to buy a collab skin from older battle passes, or if not buy to trade the current battle pass skin for an older one, example trade geralt rivia for deadpool, so u sacrifice one skin for another

This is honestly how it should be they bring the things back at full price people had a chance to get these for cheap and with the hyper level variants this would be miles better than unnecessary gate keeping they can't do it forever

I honestly agree with this

Like I didn't play the game back when Rick Sanchez was in the battlepass, so I didn't get him, and I really wish I played during that time. And I do think it's fair to only bring back the collabs and not the fortnite-made cosmetics.

Edit: Adding onto this, I think any other styles unlockable in that battlepass should be locked to that battlepass. So you couldn't buy Toxic Rick or any of the super-level styles if Rick was being re-sold.
