Update: This pedal has been paid for thanks to your viewership on this video. Thank you for supporting my addic–er... I mean, my studies of guitar tone.

This has got to be the ideal pedal for any new guitar player. Because, well, by the time it ships you'd have four years of experience.

I had a similar experience on a waiting list that long. There's a pretty popular luthier in NY who famously epoxy's fretless basses/guitars, almost like a mirror glass finish. Got on the waiting list in 2015, and sure enough, got an email back in 2019 telling me it was my turn. Had to tell the guy in those four years, I graduated college, had two relationships including one engagement, moved to another state and I sold my fretless 2-3 years beforehand. No matter how good the gear is, there's no singular piece of gear worth waiting almost half a decade for IMO

You drop boxes and stickers with the best of them. Killer pedal, and playing (as always).

PS: Nice omega. That's tasty.

Love the fact that you played a “Yellow Ledbetter” type progression, it sounded so nice with the clean sound

We're just in information overload stages of guitar products. Sure this sounds good, but so do like a million other things. It's almost hard to go wrong at this point. Listening to the playing samples, I feel like I've heard that same tone loads of times, and I can't even remember where/when because it's borderline commonplace.

The unboxing sequence, with piano soundtrack, is hysterical!

As someone who has owned a KOT and gigged with one for awhile I can say my first initial impression of the pedal was underwhelming. You don’t notice how amazing this pedal is until you spend at least a month with it and test it at a proper gig. It is the only OD I’ve used that sounds great with ANY amp. It just brings the best out of your amp in so many ways while staying dynamic. It’s definitely not a tube screamer it’s completely different.

That being said - if you can’t pay $800 for a pedal there are some other amazing options out there (kingtone duellist is great) but if you want something cheap honestly the tc electronic mojo mojo comes pretty damn close too!

Make sure in the Analogman vs Clon to play through both pedals at the same time for super duper tone!

It’s the feel and versatility that make this pedal awesome IMO. They way it can both completely adds its own gain on a clean sound, or integrate into a gainy sound, both work perfectly. You never seem to lose headroom on this pedal and it just feels good to play.

I've heard there is a waiting list of 18 years to buy a loaf of bread in Japan. Japan has this crazy waiting list thing going.

Every time I hear the King of Tone, I'm reminded why there's a waiting list. Awesome sounds, awesome playing, awesome video. Thanks man!

Only 3 years left! I may buy one of the clones but I'm happy to wait to get mine to support small builders like this. :-)

The amount of absurd esoteric hype behind Analogman's pedal can get out of control, and Mike plays very well that game, but he did (and still do) some of the best pedals ever. King of Tone is one of them. It is less expensive and faster to get to build it yourself, result can be pretty close, if not identical, but yeah, it's great to have the real deal.

I first heard about this pedal when watching a Rig Rundown for Kenny Wayne Shepherd. I love his tone. Never could replicate it

The waiting list for rafting the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon NP - before the process changed - used to be up to 15 years and beyond...I never got on that list, but I had a friend who did...he was a good friend and invited me on his trip! Thanks for waiting Dave! Thanks for the video...

The tone on the single coil was gorgeous, I don't know if I'd pay hundreds for it. Great video as usual, Tyler!

I live in CT and have been to his shop and by far he has the best collection of vintage and esoteric pedals You gotta check out his shop. Its a mess but in a great way. I bought an ADA phaser from him reissue and what a nice pedal that is if you are looking for dynamics. His own pedals are amazing too. On another note Chris Siegmund of Siegmund amps built me an amp and a one off mic pre I designed, and he recently passed away. What a sad day he was a genius. He made me a field coil speaker for my amp head and if you never played a field coil speaker, you are in for a treat.
