The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka has not been able to achieve its objectives, according to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, who also promised that the party will conduct a thorough investigation once the results are made public. "We will see what are the gaps and what are the deficiencies were there at different levels. We will look into that and we will take this result in our stride and will go ahead and reorganize the party and come back during Lok Sabha election," stated Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai. According to figures from the Election Commission of India, the Congress party was leading with 117 seats as the votes were being tallied for the Karnataka state assembly election, while the BJP was leading with 75 seats.
