It's not impossible to make Big Brother work again, but it really needs to pay very close attention to what the fans have been criticizing about it for absolutely years. In a nutshell, make it like it was in the beginning. Make it interesting, rather than sensational. And make it normal. Cut out the gimmicks, the wacky themes, the freakish housemates. Make it more fun, it got genuinely dark and depressing in some of the later years on Channel 4. Don't not make changes, but try to recapture a lot of what we loved about it in those early years. I have this uneasy feeling that they are going to copy the revived Austrian format of recording the whole series before broadcast, and I don't think it'll work. The live feed and the immediacy of events was what really made it special, Channel 5's version was much poorer for only showing the highlights package each night. Please get it right, this is a most unusual gift to have a third network willing to take it. And if they get it wrong, I cannot imagine anyone else showing interest in the format for many more years. If ever.
