How to Add Hyperlinks to Summarized Saved Searches in NetSuite

Using Summary Types in saved searches is a great way to perform calculations like total sales by item or determine the earliest or latest date of a transaction in a group, however summarized results don't natively include hyperlinks to the records that are listed. In this video, I share a trick for using a Formula (Text) field and a bit of HTML code to generate dynamic hyperlinks in summarized saved search results.

Thank you for this video! It has allowed me to add a link to the customer record to open the latest budget for that customer. It's so simple and elegant. I was looking into workflows "go to record" before and it was not cooperating... this solution is 100 times better.

Great stuff, but I am curious. If you wanted to utilize this approach in a Sandbox environment but then incorporate into a bundle to roll out to several NS accounts, do you know if there is a way to make that link more generic and work across multiple NS environments?

With the current set up, it works great for one off installations because the URL is specific to the environment, but what if you want to build out custom searches to share across several?

This is a great video. I have also heard that you can make hyperlinks and buttons to direct to filtered saved searches. I am trying to write a formula to do so but running into problems. Do you have any advice or have you prepared a tutorial on how to do this?

Thanks for this! I would love to see a video on how to Link a Custom Transaction to another transaction. For example, You make a custom transaction and want to have a custom field with another transaction referenced in it. How do you make that Text in the custom field hyperlink to the transaction with the same Doc Number?

Hello, I haven't read the comments on this video to see if anyone else mentioned it. I think you have to use Formula (HTML) now right?

thanks this was really useful. I have another case, where I have a custom field that people populate. The field contains a URL in our sharepoint. When that field is added to a saved search, the field can display quite long in the results. Could the URL be replaced with a button or a shortened link, like click here, thanks in advance

Is there a way to export this saved search so that in the exported file, it will be hyperlinked and not show the link as text?

I see that all are correct but some reason it shows the whole formula rather than the link.
