I had the BEAR ACL repair 2 weeks ago. So far I am happy with it.

Cool approach. I wonder how soon after and ACL tear it can be used (as you mentioned in a previous video that waiting a bit after the injury occurs tends to produce more favorable outcome in traditional ACL repair.)

Excellent video as always.

Very cool video - thanks for sharing! I am 4 months post hamstring autograft. It's definitely challenging to rehab my hamstring graft site, but I'd have to weigh that against a longer period of weight bearing restriction with the bridge. Those first 3 weeks were the most annoying, so without more evidence on the future outcomes, I would still choose hamstring autograft.

But I'm also sure the tech will continue to improve. Will be exciting to see what this looks like in 10-20 years

Sounds awesome! Except that getting into surgery 50 days after the injury is a miracle, 😂😂. It took me 20 days just to get an MRI and I had to drive an hour to another location to get that done. Then visits with doctors to go over the MRI results to show me that my ACL was completely torn. They want pre surgical PT so that my mobility is great before surgery—which it is, but waiting to see the doctor again to get on the surgical schedule. I am at 33 days now post injury, and I gather it will be at least a month before they will do the procedure (hamstring harvest). It takes so long to get anything done, and I have awesome insurance

I’m guessing if you already had the other procedures it’s too late.

Theoretically could this technique be mimicked for shoulder, neck, and back injuries?

The 50 day from injury requirement has been removed. BEAR has been performed as far as 1 year from injury

Has it been used to repair a damaged but not torn or stretched ACL?

I wonder if there would be similar outcome measures with the reconstruction v. BEAR procedure if the reconstruction group waiting the additional 3 months (9 v. 12) to return to sport.

Do they need guinea pigs who've had 2 previous surgeries and a 3rd rupture, untreated, 10 years ago?

Could this be used in the future for partial ACL tears as well?
