As Archimedes once said, "Give me a lever long enough, and a place to stand, and Joe Dart's bass playing, and I can funk the world."
Or something.

Goddammmnnnn. Vulfpeck is basically one entity. Just sounds so tight and unified.

Not being hyperbolic here, this is one of the best songs I've ever heard in my life. I listen to it over and over and over and over and over on different speakers and different headphones just to get new perspectives of it. It's so good. That segment at 0:41 makes me fucking nut. The tone of the keyboard on the right speakers has a bit of drive to it that goes back to the resolve afterwards legitimately can't sound better to me. It's like the perfect noise lol.

Oh my God this song is brilliant. Fugue State is the state of mind one personality experiences when another personality becomes the conscious personality, when a person has dissociative identity disorder (split personality). (Basically, when one personality "takes control.")

A fugue is a, "contrapuntal composition in which a short melody or phrase (the subject) is introduced by one part and successively taken up by others and developed by interweaving the parts."

The dissonant parts of this song represent the dissociation. The interweaving of different musical phrases is the other personalities interweaving with the "main" personality.
God I hope I'm not wrong

The way the melody gets passed between guitar and piano still gives me chills 2 years later. Forever my favorite vulf piece :)

I really love the way that reverb subtly gets more lively around 2:24

How I wish I could find people to play with like you guys. I've been devouring all of your videos for the past couple of days now. Somehow you flew under my radar until then. Everything you people do is pretty amazing on every level. I know I'm gushing and believe me I don't impress easily. If it were just incredible musicianship that would have been enough. If you just had remarkable cinematography in your vids, that would have been enough. If it were only your quirky sense of humor that too would have been enough. With a MIGHTY HAND and an OUTSTRETCHED ARM you brought me forth out of boredom. You truly rock my socks off.

Nice. That groove reminds me of Steely Dan.

I remember in concert they played this and halfway through the song, everyone started "singing along" to the chorus. Love it.

Holy crap, it's been years since I've heard some good funk with a Rhodes keyboard, I didn't know anyone was making stuff like this nowadays. Came here from the Progressive Underground program on WDET out of Detroit, glad they opened my ears up to you guys!

No matter what song, I can't get over the fact how tight Jackstratts drumming is. The man has rhythm like a metronome and still makes it sound human

Jack's got that subtle hat choke down so good you can only see it if you look at his foot, not if you look at the actual hi hat
