From foreign shores, Rahul Gandhi has disparaged the dharmic rituals of Sanatan. Speaking at the Mohabbat ki Dukkaan event in San Francisco, the Gandhi sign ironically derided and mocked the Shashtang Pranam given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Sengol. He said PM Modi is lying down and distracting from the real issues in India. In fact, he went on to say that the BJP is doing the sceptre thing to deflect attention. Rahul Gandhi also mocked the Prime Minister for having a God complex and said that PM Modi can tell God how the universe was created.

Sengol in Tamil classical literature and practice symbolises uprightness in governance.
When a ruler makes a mistake, knowingly or unknowingly, the comment would be, " Sengol valaindadu " meaning the Upright symbol bent denoting injustice.
