The new Defender is arguably the most anticipated car of 2020, bringing the Defender into the modern era by applying the latest technology available from Land Rover. The upgrades are instantly apparent. From its modern edgy style to the series of onboard computers and stability systems, the new Defender is without a doubt a change for the better. Incorporating computers into everything the Defender does makes for a much more refined driver experience over the previous analogue drive. The long suspension travel provides a soft and gentle ride, absorbing any imperfection in the terrain beneath it. Although it shows good on-road compliance, it is just as impressive off-road, easily navigating through any terrain with the clever Dynamic Stability Control and all-wheel drive system.

The Defender 90 model arrived in late 2020, featuring a shorter wheelbase compared to the 110, providing maximum agility on and off the road. The ‘X’ variant is the top of the line spec, providing you with many of the usually costing options as standard. This means the Defender is fully packed with technology inside and out – everything you could ever need for adventures on and off the road. This particular example has the highest power output engine, providing the necessary power on demand and when required. I saw a white 110 today and I must say that it is very beautiful in person!! I couldn’t believe my eyes. It looked really really good n it had the same spec as this one but it was white with the white spare wheel cover on back. It was absolutely stunning in person. N it was big!! I showed my wife while on FaceTime and she liked it too. Might have to look into the 110 X

You missed the main off roading point of short wheel base vs long: The breakover angle. This is the primary factor that will allow the 90 to go where the 110 can't.

I'm in Canada with a leased Defender with the lease up in a month, and Land Rover has been trying to keep my business, because I have had 2 Range Rover Autobiographies, before i decided to ket into light off road driving.. Land Rover has called me as recently as yesterday, trying to sell me on the latest V8 Defender, because I said i'll stick with Defender, ao this is helping me pick my next model.. Thanks!!

Too many options by far so here's my answer. How much do you want to spend what fuel? Answer those first and the options open to you immediately reduce to a manageable choice. I saw a new 90 in a field at a shoot the other week and was amazed by its size. Huge!

I'm an Englishman and have had three LRs - Evoque, Velar and RR Sport and never had a single thing go wrong with any of them in over ten years of ownership. Guess I must be lucky or the unreliability talk is simply because those who do have problems, go on and on an on about it. I am sure there are more satisfied buyers than not.
