Long ago, a dreadful war was fought between the Goddess and the Vile God. I just picked this game up yesterday from GameStop on a whim knowing nothing about it. And I thus far do not regret it. It really harkens back to the PS2 era of JRPGs featuring a totally turn-based battle system that engages the player purely with depth and choices both in and preparing for battle. And it bring a bunch of creative, albeit contrived at times, gameplay elements to make the experience feel fresh. The gameplay itself is enough for me to overlook the kawaii anime designs and creepy fetishism of lolita girls.

Looking back on this trailer, after playing the game of course, I feel like they teased me with one of my favorite party members... Ethel is a late game member, would have made more sense to show Galdo in the trailer.

My only question is why is this game LAGGING so much on my PS3!?! I just troubleshot it through the wall and the dungeon part and the combat seems to skip frames every now and then it's annoying. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

ATTENTION! GO AND BUY THIS GAME! it is prob the rpg for the ps3 we have waited for, for a long time. IT IS AWESOME. Maybe not for everyone, but I have been playing rpg's forever and I can't stop playing it! Other than to send this message. xD

To ANY prospective English buyers:

If you haven't already experienced the disappoint, then I recommend that you DO NOT BUY this product. Firstly, being that it's a compile heart game: Don't expect it to be even remotely anywhere as well optimized as most of these AAA companies.

This game has some serious FPS issues, and I mean SERIOUS FPS issues. It almost feels at times, like you're watching a literal slideshow. About the only time you aren't experiencing FPS dips is during the fury battles in the God Revivals. Thank Gods for something, I guess. You'll see what I mean once you get to the lava volcano. It's like literally watching a slidehow.

If you're used to this from Compile Heart, and you can argue "The story is worth it" Then at that point, I would go ahead and buy it if you're a die-hard fan, and while I must agree that the characters in this game is definitely its one and only selling point, let's just say it's less-than-stellar gameplay seems to be unable to make up for it. I myself will be returning it posthaste after completion, as I will probably not have the patience to go through this again.

Playing this game in 1080P is moot. Don't do it, You will lag so bad it's unreal. To make this game even somewhat playable, and with the most optimized framerate possible, you must play in 720p resolution.  Like all compile heart games, the visuals are fantastic and the characters are quirky. In my honest opinion, I just expected a little more by this point.

It wouldn't have been much to ask for a game with more solid optimization, and I know I like their games, so it just rubs me the wrong way especially considering out of all of Compile Hearts games, this one wound up being just as bad in terms of optimization as the Neptunia series.

Anyways, there's my two cents.
