This is in my opinion one of the most deserving win of this year's Oscar. Love all the nominees but Women Talking is truly the best, poetic writing from Sarah and I'm so happy that she won the Oscar. And I'm surprised how loud the cheer was when her name was announced the winner, so happy for that and I love the hug that she got from Jessie Buckley, Rooney Mara and Sheila McCarthy, had to reply it many times because I love the solidarity of this team. I grew up knowing Sarah Polley as Sara Stanley in "Road to Avonlea" who, by the time the series ended, had decided that she wanted to pursue a career as a writer, forgoing societal convention. There is a poignancy in watching Sarah Polley in adulthood step away from the fame she could have had as an actress in order to pursue a career that made her more fulfilled, and then see her excellence recognized in the field that she chose. She may have been unhappy in her time as a child star, but I think she's now living a life that Sara Stanley would have been extremely proud of.
