Here's a fun fact Milhouse was not meant to be a Simpsons character according to Simpsons animator/director David Silverman in fact Milhouse was created for a pilot for an unmade cartoon by Matt Groening for American TV network NBC

I feel kinda bad that Milhouse always takes the fall for Barts schemes, but I also find him kinda annoying with his obsession about Lisa. It seems she was just settling when marrying him. Yeah how much love were there in the first place, if she really prefered him as a zombie, and devorced him, when they found a cure?

Is it weird that millhouse has one of the most iconic catchphrases in cartoon history and he’s only said it around 3 times the entire show

I'm not much of a fan of Milhouse, and certainly not his marriage to Lisa, as I said in the comments of her timeline. But I do often feel sorry for poor Kirk, maybe someday Wendell will notice that he gets to hang out with Bart Simpson.

A one interesting fact, that involves Lisa too

At the episode where Lisa reads Eliza's diary and from Wikipage comes this:
"Eliza Van Houten (née Simpson)"
"In a 1952 interview, there is a wedding photo in the background showing that Eliza ended up marrying Milford Van Houten, making Lisa and Milhouse distantly related, as they are both descended from Eliza's mother, Mabel"

And when you said that his parents are cousins, maybe it is normal in Van Houten family to marry to distant relatives, as in the episode Livin' La Pura Vida, it is shown that Eliza's and Milford's son Kirkedemious is the ancestor of Luane and Kirk

Maybe the reason why Millhouse had an obsessive relationship with the Simpsons' family is that his parents were so inconsistent/possibly neglectful. 😭I hope that he got therapy so his work relationship and friendship with Lisa and Bart is healthier in the future episodes.
