i feel like this version of Bf is a fallen angel that was distorted and driven to insanity by the death of Gf but she cares for him to much to pass on so her soul is bound to him and he can hear her voice constantly and feel her presence, i thought of this because when he got to the "Enough to see" you can vividly hear her voice after the 3 frames she had her arms around him showing that she doesn’t want to leave him and how his wings were black and shredded, and you can see and hear visible sadness with him as he sings. thats the current theory i got from playing the mod

I dropped this comment on TikTok, but I'll share it here too. This isn't some deep theory, just my take on the song based on my own life.

I'm not a huge FNF fan, never really cared much. But this popped up on my FYP, and damn, those lyrics hit hard xD. They've been on repeat in my head. Thought some folks might find my connection to this interesting.

I've been dealing with some heavy depersonalization and derealization lately. Every time I glance in the mirror, it's like someone else is staring back, but it's not me. Hard to explain, but it's eerie. Feels like it's its own thing, strangely familiar yet totally alien.

“I'll make you say how proud you are of me” hits close to home. It's like your reflection is making you like it, forcing you to accept that it's you. But you can't even recognize yourself as you, much less the person standing in the mirror.

"So stay awake just long enough to see my way" messed me up. I never would've admitted to vibing with this until I heard that line. Might sound wild, but that part about staying awake, paired with everything before it, felt kind of personal. With derealization, you never feel fully awake. Feels like you're stuck in the Matrix, the harder you try to wake up, the more it feels like you're not (awake). And when depersonalization kicks in, you're so disconnected from everything that you start questioning your own reality, your own identity, and your thoughts too.

Didn't expect to relate this much to a FNF track, but hey, life's full of surprises. Yeah, I'm cringe and edgy, but at least I'm free, haha. To anyone out there who needs to hear it, things do get better. Takes time, loads of it, but it does get better. Stay patient, stay strong. You're not alone in this. Talk, cry, just don't give up.
