Just read through the comments and looks like folks are a little confused. The beep at key on is telling you the warning system is working. A continuous non stop beep is the over heat alarm. A Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep is oil injection issues of some sort. Weather it's the over heat continuous beep or the oil injection warning of multiple beeps shut her down and figure out what's going on.

Disclaimer if you have an older traditional two stroke with the oil injection properly and completely removed you will get no beep with the key turned on. You will need to ground out the over heat sensor on the block to test your alarm.

I have had issues after getting fuel at a marina with water in the fuel. I've replaced a ton of parts trying to track it down but now I noticed I have no beep when turning the key on. Any insight to this?

Mine just started, the oil was Low, I topped it off, but its a constant beep when the key is on... I don't remember the single beep when turning the boat on... but something is wrong and I want to know how to diagnose it.

Hi. I just noticed that sometimes I get no beep on the initial key turn. Most of the time I do get the 1 beep though. Could this be a battery issue or perhaps a loose wire?

Mercury 150 4 stroke. 56hrs on it
Q: heard a single beep tone while riding yesterday, then sounded like eng. Bogged down...after an inspection on the lake we saw nothing wrong. Went to go again and wot @4500 (5k normal) and only went 23mph(normal upwards of 30) Eventually I dropped to 3k rpm and only 20mph, which led to 3k ram 18mph. Any ideas?
I did notice prop has some play in and out, and slight play up/dn so I know that needs tightening

Yes 2012 115 2 stroke mercury optmax when driving I get a long beep then next day I went out it did it again but twice lile stop then go

Check the emergency kill switch
