As a stock holder, I am concern that the company wants a quick buck, instead of working for future growth. The western part of the United States is growing, this is not a time to cut, but expand. Unfortunately I think BNSF will if they have not already dominated this part of the nation. With the layoffs, you are losing wisdom, that took years to nurture. I will still purchase UP stock, and remain a stock holder, but unfortunately the leadership is not focused on growing, but on pleasing the mutual fund companies.
