Hard to believe Delphi is now 25 years old. I don't think we were much older than that when we shipped version 1.0 ;-)

Not only was the VCL written in Delphi, but so was the Delphi IDE. (Just imagine trying to write a Visual Basic IDE in Visual Basic.)


Something else I've always liked about Delphi is that it compiled to a single .exe file. No runtime DLLs required.
