I spent 1998-2003, basically my entire middle-school and junior-high career, in Skechers. If I close my eyes, I can still see the ad in Jump magazine I made my mom study so she'd know exactly which pair of blue and silver platform sneakers to get me for the first day of 7th grade. It was the brand that defined my coming-of-age story...and until this very second I thought it was "Sketchers."
