Maddison McNamara has returned to the Voice to honor the best friend who she lost to suicide last year. Maddison competed in The Voice in 2016 before being knocked out early in the competition.

I saw the shortened version first, and I had to hear the story behind her, crying and singing is one of the hardest things to do vocally, knowing the lyrics to that song, I knew she'd been through something that just shattered her heart. what a sweet woman.

Ironically, her emotional, dramatic pauses really, really make the song hit home. The song is about feeling gutted and carrying on, it's 200% exactly how this song should be performed.

Maddison really poured her heart and soul out performing this Whitney classic, and what an amazing way honoring her late friend in spectacular fashion!!

I was seeing just the music clip of this performance earlier and thought it was her nerves at first.
But seeing this background story it's clear how much burden this song has got for her.

Gives me even more respect of her performing it. Other then that it's a hard song aswell.
