I still have MAJOR problems with the leaked ending with Reva, BUT there are still a ton of amazing things that will be in this show! It's insane to think how long this series/story was in development and how unbelievably underwhelming it is. This should've been an easy home run.

I think the show would of been better if it was a limited series that only focused on obi wan and vader.

I just dont get why they dont treat this show with the appropriate amount of grace. Its actually kinda hilarious. This is about the two most liked and most important characters of the whole franchise! How the hell do we even have to be talking about the fact, that it feels like a low budgetproduction!? The costumes, fight scenes, duels, music, some of the camera work etc. is mid as hell. And then u have a confusing story with lazy writing. I dont get how the standard for Kenobi seems to be mediocrity - this show should have been on top of every priority list at Lucasfilm.

I dont hate the show and i kinda liked this episode, but only because last week, i realized that this show is very limited in almost every way possible. I came to terms with the fact that it is what it is: A big waste of opportunities with some cool scenes here and there and absolute class acting by Ewan. Overall at this Moment a 6.5/10 for me

I'm getting pretty dissapointed with this show. I want to like it, but I just can't. The episode lengths are way too short, and they are messing Kenobi's character up. One episode he is weak (which I'm fine with, he hadn't used his lightsaber or the force in 10 years), and then the next episode he is completely great at fighting. The writing on this show is just garbage. The pacing feels off, reva is in this show way too much, and the cinematography is just garbage. BoBF had better cinematography than this. This show should have the same production quality of Rogue One or The Mandalorian, but it just doesn't make the bar. The actors are all doing an amazing job, they are the only thing making this show watchable. Again, the actors are doing a good job portraying their characters, but the writing on this show just sucks. The writer didn't even see ROTS. Maybe I'm just being a toxic fan, but Disney is just using Kenobi's name as a cache grab. So dissapointing.

I'm 100% cool if they want a show about Reva, and about Leia, but don't use my favorite characters, Obi-wan and Vader choosing to just shoe horn or sprinkle them in to get me to want to care about the new people. Also, why would you want to tell me two story arcs (reva and her beef with Kenobi and Vader and Kenobi) in just 6 episodes? That's not enough time to let the narrative breathe, like at all.

I loved the 1st episode with Leia, it was awesome. It showed Leia is adventerous, rebellious, adventure seeking, etc. It was a perfect setup.


I would like to get more information about Reva though?

Like, how does she know Anakin is Darth Vader? What is her skin in vader's and Kenobi's personal fight? These are my 2 main issues with the show. If you want to tell me about Reva, then, by all means, please, do it. Give me some clue as to why she cares, her motivation. As of right now, the writing is too shallow on any details, depth, and reasoning for me to invest in it. The talent is great though, and I hope there is no hate directed towards Moses Ingrham, because her acting is good, I just don't know her character's drive.


For example: Did Reva survive with her master for a while, but they heard Kenobi's message, came out of hiding, and then get caught? Does she blame Kenobi for something? Did lord Vader spare Reva's life, but not her master's?

Did the grand Inquisiter kill Reva's master? You see my problem? I have no root system within the story to latch on to, nothing to tell me why anyone cares about what they are doing, so I as a viewer by extension am having trouble caring.

OK CHECK IT OUT: I would like to make a few points here. I'm getting tired of the plot convenience of bluffing past security check points and being able to use any officer's code cylinder to get through certain doors. When I was in the military, years ago, I was very low in rank. Part of my job was to guard a secure room. No matter how high of a ranking officer approached me, they could not get in regardless of how many threats they made me unless they had the proper credentials. The Empire is not just ranked based, they have mentioned about proper areas and what not many times. So code cylinders would only work for the proper doors. Even my security badge now only works for certain doors in the hospital I go to every night. Also, the Empire runs on tight schedules. The crew of the Ghost used this against the Empire as did Han Solo when floating away with the rest of garbage. The Disney writers keep forgetting how efficient the Empire is. My other big concern is Leia. When Vader boarded Leia's ship in a New Hope, he was still concerned about optics towards the Senate by covering his tracks. He said Send a distress beacon and notify the Senate that all aboard were killed. Why would Vader be so laid back now knowing that baby Leia knows so much about their dealings. You would think he would stop at nothing to cover this stuff up seeing that she is a senators daughter and will run her mouth. I could go on and on...

In regard to Kenobi not helping the other force sensitives, he calls it a tomb, even though they appear frozen, I think they're meant to be dead.

I tried to be patient & positive with the first 3 episodes; telling myself we'll get answers & it'll all come together episode by episode. But ep 4, for the first time, has brought real disappointment for me. All the issues I had with previous ep's are now glaring...and I believe this show is beyond repair. I truly hope I'm wrong, but I don't see the final 2 episodes changing my mind.

As a show I thought this episode was ok. As a Star Wars/Kenobi show this was awful. I won’t even pick it apart but the writing and lack of budget is criminal. Compare it to stranger things and it looks like a student film compared to a big budget show.

Kenobi deserved better.

Are we meant to believe that Bail is allowed to just have his daughter returned to him and so she can go on to be an Imperial Senator after the Empire knows she was sucessfully used as bait to get a Jedi Master out of hiding to try and rescue her twice now? The Empire should be watching Bail Organa like a Hawk after this and we are meant to believe that he is able to be a key founder of the Rebellion? Nah fam. Sloppy storytelling!

a long, tracking hallway scene, where he’s sorta bumbling through the motions at first, maybe even takes a shot to the leg or something at the beginning, but then by the end he’s in full badass Jedi mode, deflecting and redirecting blaster bolts left and right, finishing off with a little flourish… that would’ve been dope.

The best thing about the Kenobi show is it makes Book of Boba Fett look like a masterpiece!

My main issue with the show is that they’re holding onto the leia storyline for too long. I don’t mind it for two or three episodes because her acting is great but it’s getting old now. Another issue for me is that the show doesn’t feel like it has stakes. Obi-wan and Leia has snuck out of the empire’s hold close to five times now and they’re unscathed.

Agree .. I enjoyed this ep, aside from the points u brought up. However .. another thing I think this show is missing the mark on is the score (music). Feels VERY basic, and has no reference back to any of the originals or prequels. Like.. no Vader theme?? Where’s the Imperial March?? The whole thing just doesn’t SOUND like Star Wars.

Well said. I think you made an excellent point that we can’t just be ignorant to the show’s flaws just to counter those whose content thrives on just hatred of the show. Also, the writing is definitely sloppy. I just wish there was the same amount of care in this show with these legacy characters as there was in Mando. We shall see how episodes 5 and 6 go…

On the one hand, you made me see some of the positives. On the other hand, I had a very bad impression first viewing. 4/10 for me. They totally dropped the ball in regards to leaving out flashbacks in the bacta tank scenes. That was the perfect opportunity. Where’s Hayden? How did obi go from hardly being able to hold a saber to 55-60% of his original abilities overnight? No re-training sequences? No reflection? He just magically remembers his moves?

Hayden has said in interviews that this Vader is conflicted. Really? He doesn’t seem very conflicted to me. There’s SO much lore they can be drawing from at this time period. I was hoping to see him without the mask, screaming in agony as they assembled him, a mashup of JEJ’s voice and Hayden’s voice to convey it’s anakin under there, meditation scenes, training, throwing stuff against the wall in anger when he learns of Kenobi, remembering his failure.

Anything! I feel like they met too soon and it was rushed. They didn’t do enough to build up their meeting. Vader should be fuming and writhing with pain and anger. Just not really getting that right now.

Also when obi hid Leia under his trench coat I was like ….really? 😐

I’m disappointed at all the wasted opportunities, especially in this episode.
The second Reva opens her mouth I cringe.
