for long term horizontal scaling is good. and for short term vertical scaling is good. both are good it depends on the requirement.

if u have big website with millions of traffic then u need horizon scaling for spread the risk
but if u have small bussines then u need vertical scaling
As a business student I prefer Horizon and vertical both because if one area has more trafic then these area need more powerfull computer
however if there are less trafic they need less powerful server

I think vertical scaling is best because we have one computer and we can assign ram ssd etc. to it
But when it's come to very high scaling ⚖ so we can consider HS.

BUT I think horizontal scaling is better because there is less probability of failure and no limit but you need to do load balancing in horizontal scaling.

If network traffic is limited and you know it going to remain some what in the range, vertical scaling is preferable.
Else if traffic is increasing exponentially the horizontal scaling is nice to have.
