How long does immunity last? | Inside Story

We're all acclimatising to a new world of coronavirus pandemic.
People staying at home, businesses shut and economies heading towards a cliff edge and we're all wondering when will we return to something approaching the "old normal".
For some people, immunity to Covid-19 could be a future gate pass, a passport back to work, to riding public transport, flying on a plane, going out, shaking hands - remember those days ?
Experts are studying antibody tests to see whether people who've already had coronavirus, are no longer at risk of contracting it again. If so, they could have certificates that grant them freedom when the rest of us stay locked down.
But would that work?

Hasn't there already been report of someone who was 'discharged from hospital', end up being diagnosed with covid19 again? If any of those case became asymptomatic carrier (despite having immunity to the virus but aren't showing any sign or affecting their daily life), the general public will continue to be at risk.

It's good to do these research but I don't think it should be implemented on a global scale. Within individual country "yes" but not for people to say they had immunity to be able to travel to several other country.

I think it's a bit too early for much of this discussion. There are still just too many unknowns at this point in time, though hopefully things might change pretty quickly. A well produced segment that should be brought back in a week or 2 to discuss how things have developed and if plans have become clearer.

Phones can be hacked, stolen etc. I really don't see how digital tracking through mobile cellphone apps will avoid the falsification of immunity "passes" or certificates. The fact of the matter is, our whole way of life, from how we organise society (hopefully this means how we will organise ourselves), and this includes a new economic value system (what we consider labour, for example, and what we consider "capital", will change as a result of this.
