I started learning physics recently, and I am learning from home. I am doing a task where I need to calculate the length of a string in a ball, and there is a part in this example that I did not understand. All help is appreciated!

For those who didn't get it :
The rope is not circular rather a long cuboid with a square face. Since the ball is made up of the rope
Volume = cross section of rope * length of rope

Hi I’m working out the same problem but I don’t understand where the 4mm came from and also I don’t understand how you came up with the conclusion of using V=d^2 *L for the cross sectional area. Over all I’m not understanding how everything relates lol ?
