Merritt College Fire fighter online certificate information. This program prepares you for the fire academy and also is part of an Associate of Science degree in Fire Science. Courses start in spring 2021 but are available in both fall and spring semesters. Merritt College works in partnership with the Oakland Fire Department and has a certified Fire training academy as part of its program.
