XR2LEARN - Training students with V-Lab VR: Demo

V-Lab aims to train students in making use of lab equipment and conducting virtual experiments at a distance before they use the on-site lab.
The goal is to offer a safe environment for the trainees to learn by trial and error and exploration of various possibilities, without the risk of equipment damages and accidents, and therefore reduce the overall cost of the lab training process.

This video presents the VR version of the application which features enhanced immersion and interaction in actual 3D space instead of on-screen projection. The use of modern VR headsets allows for a more natural, familiar and, thus, educationally effective, mode of training and the ability for full manipulation of objects including close inspection, physical arrangement experimentation, etc.
The VR version allows the use of both hands with intuitive interaction aids including pointing rays, object highlighting, in-world annotations etc.

The application is OpenXR-based; thus, compatible with most XR headsets and controllers in the market today.
