Starting nursing school soon? So many students get really anxious right before their first semester of nursing school begins.

In this video, I'll share four things I wish I would have known before I started nursing school.

One thing that I really try to tell students is that it is perfectly normal to have doubts or to question yourself during nursing school. Things can get tough, and this is a very common reaction that many nursing students have.

25 years RN no regrets soon I wii be getting ready to retire . To all the future nurses get to financial literacy it’s sad to see nurses doing jobs they longer enjoy because they didn’t plan for retirement . Retirement starts on the first day on the job .

I’ve been a RN for 10 months working on a surgical floor. It’s totally worth it! It’s my second career and the work-life balance is amazing.

I just graduated in May and passed the NCLEX two weeks ago. It still hasn't quite set in that I'm actually an RN now.

I wish I had known before starting nursing school was to apply for every loan out there…Because working and going to school without a financial support system was hard.

I can attest to #2. Don’t give up! I started out pre-nursing after high school and gave up because I was overwhelmed. Now 12 years later I’m going back after realizing the major I switched to did nothing for me. I wish I would’ve stuck it out back then!

I just graduated from my ADN program in May, and I agree with you 100%! I was an EMT for 8 years before nursing school, and it still tested my limits in ways I did not anticipate. However, I perservered, and I now have a rewarding career to look forward to that will enable me to take care of my family financially too. Nursing school is so worth it!

I just started nursing school and just listening to you as a nurse and the information you provide for school is awesome and amazing. I’m so glad I came across your page. I feel your page is going to break the info down nicely to understand and will be very helpful. Thank you!!!!

First of all, thank you for being there during my program back in 2017. For me, I wish I would have researched the schools a bit better. The first school I attended would not reveal their retention rates. Come to find out, they were graduating only 12-14 students from a class of 63. Another red flag was the instructors - they just could not keep them either. I quit after successfully completing my first semester and luckily got enrolled in a different school. Just as hard but I felt much happier. I wish we had Magnet Schools, as we do hospitals to hold them accountable. At the age of 63, I am working at one of our country's best hospital and now enrolled in the Family Nurse Practitioner program. I am not nearly as stressed or find it as difficult or challenging as nursing school. Later, I plan to teach at a nursing school. I had doubts as well when I was in nursing school. I questioned my worth, my age, whether I could complete the program, and if it was all worth it. It is! Keep going.

Second year nursing student here. I’ve been having doubts if I really want to pursue this. I’ve been an MA for 15 years and have enjoyed helping people, but I’ve been feeling discouraged because of the intensity of these courses! But I will try my best to think positive and push through.

I start nursing school next month and I am both excited and nervous. Your page has helped me feel more prepared for what's to come in the next couple years and helped reduce some of the anxiety I feel. I'm hoping to go into pediatrics after nursing school!

I start nursing classes next month, I’m so excited! I know that it will be hard with a job and children. Earlier today, I was wondering how I was going to stay organized while in nursing school, because I am not an organized person. Thank you for this video.

One thing all nurses need to know is that you don't have to limit yourself and your life to just being a registered nurse. With the way things are in nursing, I truly understand why someone would walk away. So this message is to say that neither I or YOU are limited to just being a nurse. Your skill set could land you a high paying job outside of nursing or a consultant job. Don't be limited if don't want to. You do not have to!!!!
