Beginning Corel VideoStudio 2020

In this video, I tell you the absolute minimum to get started editing with Corel VideoStudio 2020 editing software. This is just the barebones stuff, from importing your video into the software, to rendering out a final playable video.

I shot this using a Panasonic Lumix GH5 camera and a Sony ECM-88 microphone. I editing it using Corel VideoStudio.

Great video! :) Never really understood Videostudio is not been covered more, and the market is all dominated with Premiere Pro/Sony Vegas, and Davinci Resolve.
I have been using Videostudio for over 16 years now (when it was still Ulead before Corel), and I have to say especially the last 2/3 years for me it had become a very serious editing program with finally multi core support, and Intel Quick Sync and Nividia CU. The look/feel/stability has greatly improved, and I can recommend it to everyone now for sure! (That has not always been the case to be honest)

I even took a full paid Adobe Premiere Pro course last year, and worked with it for a month or two, but decided to switch back to Corel Videostudio. Except for the real time rendering which is smoother than Corels Smart Proxy stuff, I really cant find any reason to pay a lot of money every month to use Premiere Pro. Too many windows, overcomplicated unclear menu structures, default too small timeline, and a lot more which was simple at Videostudio, but hard to achieve at Premiere Pro. To be honest I cant find really anything that I would miss in Corel Videostudio. Perhaps the color correction, but since I use digital/game footage only, I dont care at all.

Things to improve however at Corel's side: Fix the new product launches. Always when I upgrade to the latest version, (2020 at the moment) there are fixes and crashes which needs an extra service pack or 2. A bit annoying everytime. Also please ditch the old PHB webboarrd from the mid 2000's, and upgrade it with something smooth and new.

I have been using Videostudio Ultimate 2019. Love the software but it has started crashing every time I close a project. When I try to reopen I get "Unexpected file format" and my project is gone. Have you experienced this? Will an upgrade to 2020 cure this?

I really want to like this software because you make it seem so easy. Unfortunately, the videos are so choppy I can’t edit at all. They’re fine when just being played and in a different video editor but I can’t figure out how to fix it.

What's the best way to save a video to watch on your 4k TV?

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me? I'm trying to export my project to MP4 and it say that it can't play the video, I tried multiple video players like windows media player and VLC. When I go to the property it looks like theirs noting that has been exported.

I tried contacting them and thy are not very helpful. It's hard not being able to talk to someone over the phone for tech problems.

Hi Bob! I have a question...is it possible to add a bunch of my videos into VideoStudio to make a time-lapse video? And if so...do you have a video on how to do it or could you make one? And lastly...if it isn't possible with this program can you recommend an easy one that WILL do it? I don't need anything fancy...we had a driveway put in and I want to make a timelapse of some Ring videos that I have downloaded that show the work being done. Thanks :-)

For quite some time.

The other day I went to insert a Flash animation such as the clapboard.
None of my flash animations will play.
I get some type of error message I forgot what it was.
Can you shed some light on my problem ?
