Izaya leaves Ikebukuro

Izaya is a highly complex character who had been trying to ignore his own feelings and make up stupid reasons for his actions for most of the show.
Now, this scene shows that he has finally broken.
God, this ending is sad.

According to the Wiki in "A Sunset with Orihara Izaya" its insinuated that the fight he had with Shizuo deeply traumatized him. But only Izaya's last line seems to hint at any trauma to me.

izaya is such a fun antagonist. the only ally he has that actually likes him is probably saki, and even she betrays him pretty early on (good for her tbh)

but watching him interact with characters who don't have a choice but to deal with him even though at best they're indifferent to him and are only there for their own goals... it's certainly interesting! if i was surrounded by such a variety of people, i would probably love humans too.
