Usually when it is on a wire people use pipe cleaners, but that makes it difficult to eat. Plain wire may be too smooth but you could roughen it up a bit first (make sure you are using a wire that is not containing toxic metals)

Once they are completly dry they store in airtight container for months (they are just flavoured and coloured sugar). To clean the thermos fill with boiling water and leave until all the sugar dissolves

Hi minny luu if you want the small crystals follow the same process but not in a thermos just use a normal cup or glass.

Hi Megan Dodson, make sure you have left it to dry out completely before storing in an airtight container. It is essentially just sugar so should store well. I have had some rock candy sticks in a container for a month and they have not gone moldy.
