I would rather wait for the quest 3 considering i own a quest 2. Pico 4 could be great if you have never owned a vr before. But im happy to wait as this pico 4 is not much of an upgrade to the quest 2 and is not worth replacing. The games i play are not going to ba available to the pico 4 without an expensive gaming rig.

Saying that the "old" XR2 chipset (while there's still nothing newer and better than that btw) has performance issues pushing those extra pixels at higher resolution, is only a matter of *software* optimizations. XR2's Adreno 650 (at least on paper) can push two 3K displays at 90Hz which is much higher than what Pico 4 is using it for. So, even if you get some dropped frames, it's not likely due to SoC, it's just that games need further tweaks and fine-tuning. But I agree, it just got released, so Pico will most likely solve this and other minor issues in future firmware updates. Just remember how Quest performed the first day it got released.. Same story here. But far from a deal-breaker, at least for me.

What about the issues that some users have been experiencing?
Ghosting, jittery head and controller tracking, black dots pattern, lots of glare and so on?
Sounds like getting a pico 4 is like gambling for a chance to win a good unit.
