GAP IID Tool: 5 PROs and 3 CONs - Land Rover Discovery 4 LR4

Hi! You are thinking about buying the GAP IID Tool for your Land Rover, but you are a bit put off by the price? I'll give you some information about the tool and why the rather high price can quickly pay off.

This episode is all about the GAP IID tool and 5 reasons why I love it and 3 why not! I'm sorry for the length of the video, but I wanted to show you that this tool is really good and worth the money!

Overall, in my honest opinion, it is the best aftermarket diagnostic and programming tool for Land Rover or Ranger Rover vehicles! But it's also a bit expensive and that's the reason why most Land Rover or Range Rover drivers won't buy it.

But even though it is a bit more expensive than others, you will get your money back quickly if you have any problems with your car!

The GAP IID tool is very handy and you can always carry it in the glove compartment of your car or similar. So you don't need to carry a laptop with you!

Hi Peter, thanks for the great video. One should be careful NOT to engage the "recondition" mode of a charger while the battery is connected to the electric system of the car because in this mode the charger uses higher voltage peaks than in the normal charging mode. This can (and has in the past) destroy electronic components in the car! In the video you are using the MXS 5.0 model of ctek. This has no "supply" mode, which you need for operations with the IID Tool, which take a longer time, to prevent the battery from discharging. The charger you have linked is the right one, because the model MXS 10 has this supply mode. Thanks for this useful link!

Another very informative video my friend, this is one my list of things to buy for the disco, but like you say, it's expensive, and the price is delaying the purchase, it will come in handy tho, and the wife has just got herself a discovery sport, so I'm sure it'll get used on that too.

Thanks for the great video! I tried to program the puddle lights on my Discovery 4 (2011) (the light is located on the bottom of the door).

I think I'm in the right settings. Bud unfortunately no change. The lights still don't work. Does anyone have any good advice for me?

Your meant to run the vehicle while using the iid.
No need to connect to a charger.
