My mother unexpectedly passed away a month ago. Shortly after she passed my dad found a post it note with the name of the band and the title of this song. I played this song at her memorial. I have never heard of them before but have been listening to it since she has passed. It gives me a lot of comfort. She passed away with a radio next to her playing Christian music. So I know she went in peace. I know she wanted to see this band before she died but they aren't playing in my area any time soon. I feel she lives through the music. May sound corny but it helps me cope.

This song means so much to me because it was a dedication I did at my father's funeral in November 2011, when he went home to Jesus unexpectedly. I'm so comforted to think that this song is what he and Jesus are saying to all of us. My dad (Grant Hammond) was an incredible musician that I had to joy of playing guitar with for many years. Like Rick, my dad could just write music like most of us speak language. He was always tweaking and perfecting sounds and genuinely LOVED music. I will always feel grateful and connected to Need to Breathe and Rick Beato for this entire album, but especially to Lay 'em Down.
