SingFonix - My Mother Told Me

Alternately titled “Song of the Vikings”, this song and tune are adapted from the TV show Vikings, sung in Season 4 and Season 5.

The lyrics are adapted from Chapter 40 of the Icelandic epic, Egil’s Saga, and are apparently based on a true story.

Old Norse:
Þat mælti mín móðir,

English:
My mother told me
Someday I would buy
A galley with good oars
Sail to distant shores
