When I first found out about E Foiling I quickly realized the boards cost a small fortune so I decided to buy the cheapest electric E Foil , (flying motorized surfboard) on the Internet and put it to the test!

Very nice video. Stoked you took the plunge. I did the same thing myself about 3 years ago.. and I’ve been addicted to e-foiling, and other types of foiling, ever since. It is an AMAZING sport.

Great video Edwin! Congrats on jumping in. I bought a Fliteboard 2 years ago and I love it. No regrets. I sprung for a second battery right away so I can stay out for 3-4 hours. Also have made lots of vids if anyone wants a pilot perspective. Start up cost is high but it's about value and I love this ride more than any boat or motorcycle that I have owned. Waterproof jawbone headphones top off the experience.

Great vid, Edwin. Fliteboard and Lift you get support as well as other features. My Fliteboard mast didn't seat correctly and they replaced it for me same day. The largest battery they produce lasts about 2.5 hours and you're right, when you are getting into it 30-40 minutes is all you need! Have you considered taking off the prop guard?

Hello mate, It looks like you might've put the bolts and nuts connecting the foil to the board upside down! I've never rigged an efoil but I do a lot of other foil sports. We use the same bolt-and-nut track setup to attach the foil to the board. You're supposed to put the nuts into the track, and then bolt through the foil into them. This allows to forwards and backwards movement of the foil to control lift and it's really easy to do.

This is just awesome. Glad you followed "the bug" and found a way to make it happen. Enjoyed this video; discovering new sports is one of life's pure joys. Thanks again.

Glad to hear you are stoked on foiling. I've heard from friends that their "cheap" efoil ends up being junk. Then they buy the reputable brand and are super stoked on the quality. A way to save money is to build one diy with quality components. There is an e-foil forum of homebuilders. Friends tell me diy is about 1/3 the cost of retail.

That’s awesome! I’m glad you took a gamble and got one that works good for you. 45 minutes isn’t that bad, definitely longer battery life then I would have thought.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us 😊👍

I'm sure with an example on hand, the GHP crew could re-engineer the design to make better, faster, more user friendly to repair one. It would make a good series, with plenty of room for colabs.

Dude! Great post. I can't believe you can get in that water without a hood! I get brain freeze. Thanks for bringing this sport forward.

Such a cool video dude! You captured your progression really well and nice to see your reasons for buying this one in particular haha. I recognised the lake there and Iv'e had the chance to kiteboard there during a crazy storm while I was traveling in the USA two years ago! Once you get the hand of Efoiling a bit, you should definitely try Wingfoiling! Its very similar but completely silent, which is so peaceful and still lets you get out onto the water when it's too windy to Efoil! I've got a friend who lives by the lake who would be stoked to get you going on the wing! Greetings from South Africa.

Those look super cool. I first tried using an Air Chair behind a boat like 25'ish years ago and I remember how much of a trip it was learning to glide out of the water. Leaning forward shot your back and vice versa but when you could control the hover it was so smooth and effortless so I could see how much fun riding one of these would be. Definitely want to get one as I can afford it.

Great video. Very impressive improvising to get on board video.

I saw one of these for the first time like 4 yrs ago on the Amalfi coast and was just like WHAT???

So cool...

good on you for rolling the dice. Looks a touch under-powered off the plane, which is not surprising. However, assessing the water inside the controller compartment is worth a look for reducing weight. While it might be there for 'cooling, ' doesn't it just drain out once you're up on the foil? Because if so, you may not need it so could drop serious weight by sealing the compartment. I know, everyone's an expert, but worth a look...🤙

It’s good to hear your opinion bro, I’ve not tried yet but wondered if it would become my favorite thing too. Cost is gnarly, but also too many options - don’t want to get the wrong setup. Great vid thanks

Cool Video.. love that you are enjoying foiling. I have been learning to wing since 2019 fall.. so really since 2020 since i only got a few days in. If you live near a windy area you should look into that as well.. like a trip to the columbia river gorge. Might change your life.
