There is no justification that will disguise that they are taking greenspace from the citizens. Bottom's wants to talk about defunding the police, but doesn't know how? How about just weeding out the big issues. It is as simple as a instituting a community review board to oversee interactions. It is as simple as making officer income/promotion potential not correlative to incarcerating the public and policing for profit. We need the police. We need good police work even more. Bottom's "civil conversation" sounds a lot like a conversation that can be tabled and overruled. Does it really come as a surprise that people protested at commissioners houses? That is a sign that their "civil conversations" are not being heard.
