I do like this idea of giving junior drivers a mini race weekend experience to integrate them better. But the logistics and details need to be sorted.

I hope they’d do it mid season, making the young drivers more attractive in
Silly season. I would also like to see other tracks return, like portimao, a German race or Malaysia

I think something over the summer break with all rookies would be awesome. As well as a one-time post season rookie race.

I’m for it as long as they let Rookie Fernando take part

I think this is a great idea IF the cost cap is removed for that. At the very least for getting them fresh cars instead of ones that are worn out.

I hope they do this in Spirit races because ever since the new rule changes to the sprint race format it lost some purpose

I say it should be a full race and it should be a sort of all-star race in Belgium a week after the Belgian Grand Prix and Formula 2 round. It's an iconic, tough track and it's early enough that they can be appealing to the teams. I also think there should be a standalone Formula 2 event somewhere like Jerez like there used to be

So no more donuts to close off the season? What a shame

Mandatory rule though every driver has to be under 25, and any damage incured during the weeked does affect the cost cap. Plus every car get new compnents that can be used in the championship but if a failure occurs then it doesnt matter

The only problem I see with this is some emotional drivers being put behind an f1 wheel if you watch f2 races you see how chaotic every single
One of them is they need to learn race safety and the the lay of the land having that maturity would be better in the long run

I would love to see a f2 style race with the grid (basically a same-spec race with f1 drivers)

What a great idea!! Then we will truly be able to see who is ready for F1, as long as the use of the cars/staff or any damage caused IS NOT taken out of the F1teams cost cap budget

Hear me out
They do it during summer break. They make the break one week longer to shorten the autumn break, and do the rookie race on the 3rd/5 weeks over summer break.
They do it in Barcelona, which is the most average track on the F1 calendar as proved by Mr V's Garage.
Same regulations for drivers as the rookie FP1 tests to get rookies
Make the teams allowed to use brand new components only for this race that don't count towards the car allocations, or the cost cap.
Any damage doesn't affect the cost cap.
And make it 50% the normal race distance with a mandatory pitstop.

Nice, a smart way to give rookies like alonso racing experience in F1

Not a bad idea. But maybe take it a little further though. 3 to 5 races during the year, but use the previous years cars. Two deivers per team, same as any other race.

Admitedly tht is a cool idea and i would either have during Summer break or or at the end of the season but yea everthing else does need to be sorted and finalised like u said

License points for the junior drivers, but championship points for the constructors
