Took me 30+ years to finally figure out that Chip's outfit was inspired by Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones and Dale's outfit was inspired by Tom Selleck's Magnum, P.I.!

I still remember this old Disney cartoon show from back in the early 90's! I also imagine them being a part of the rescue aid society from "The Rescuers" movies!😉😂

Never got the references Chip and Dale were making with their outfits. Until just recently, when I watched an episode on Disney+, I got it. Chip's Indiana Jones, and Dale's Magnum P.I.

The series premiered in 1989 on The Disney Channel before moving into a regular slot in syndication the following fall. In 1990, the series premiered as part of the lineup known as The Disney Afternoon, where it ran until 1993. Following its departure from the Disney Afternoon, Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers reruns remained in syndication until 1995.
