Just bought Ridgid RP241 for $2000. I work in residential plumbing and have to be very efficient. While I like soldering it takes up way too much time. By the time you prep the pipe/fittings, solder and cool off you’re looking at a lot of time. This is of course if everything goes smooth!!!

Just got the 241 myself. Was told by a couple of people the Ridgid is much better made.

FYI. The Milwaukee does have a battery indicator built in the switch button. Full battery will be indicated by 4 green led lights.

Both are actually made in same factory by novopress

Good review. That trigger issue would annoy the hell out of me though. I had a Rothenberger that did the same. Accidentally hitting the button is one thing if it auto resets but if you also have to release it that's a pain. The Milwaukee is made for them in Germany by Novapress so all those talking about Milwaukee's QA, well it's a non issue. Novapress rebadged this unit with Milwaukee's batteries and charger as a blue Gerberit, red Acco 102, orange Kempress etc and as it's own brand. I can speak for the Novopress as I have the Kempress and Acco and neither have missed a beat. Deciding factor I guess is service and maintenance and location of the agent to do it.

I have had 2 of the Ridgids fail in the last 2 months with less than 100 cycles on them. Not a great first experience with these. I would be careful recommending these. Online forums are saying the boards in those have a high failure rate and the lead time on repair is 3-6 months. 2 jobs in a row I have been left standing there looking like an idiot because this brand new tool is dead.

According to comments milwaukee m12 sounds like the best choice for being compact and a bit more efficient because wow the universal batteries

Because this video was made in 2017, they jaw sets were not readily available, NOW in 2020 the jaw sets are available for black pipe and ACR fittings

I much rather a thumb button, as anyone knows the thumb has the most strength. But then again 🤔 to be able to switch the batteries from a drill or driver with Milwaukee is useful. But then again megapress copper press & PEX press with one tool 😯 that's impressive...

What do you think gets into tighter spots? The rp 240 or the 241

Where you at in Minnesota? I’m from the twin cities and worked on boilers there but I’m up by Hayward WI now doing HVACR for Walmart and I like it.

Can you specify what model ridgid pex jaws would work on the m12? And is this a proven thing or does it just work?

Just purchased the rp241 just need to wait for it to get delivered I use the Milwaukee one at work something as simple as a power button definitely helps with battery savings but I absolutely think pro press is just as good if not better than soldering

I’m a retiree responsible for three homes and help with 3 additional homes were my children live. I’m a serious DIY guy and use quality tools so I can pass them onto my three sons. Which pro press is right for me….

Looks to be unbiased. From this video, it seems that he says there isn't a huge difference between the small ones.

are the jaws interchangeable? can the rigid jaws be used on the Milwaukee press tool? I'm not a plumber so i dont know much about these tools, but there is a rigid press tool kit that rigid sells for JMA RF compression coaxial connectors. The issue is that all of my other power tools are Milwaukee and so I already have a bunch of batteries and chargers. I want to know if I can put together my own "kit" but replace the actual press tool with this Milwaukee one

Both tools are made [as to or up to 2019] in the SAME factory by the same company.
These are great for new construction, but are also used in HVACR and industrial copper tubing [also steel in specific applications]....Also there was litigation when this video was made concerning the maker of one of the fittings suing RIDGID and supply houses for restraint of trade
